Wrestling others

I have recently come into contact with a few people on here, that think a couple of stone over or under their own weight means that you cant wrestle and have some fun with them.

You should stick to people of your own weight, to me the idea is totally ridiculous, how else is a person to grow in knowledge and experience if he does not fight people larger than himself. Also how do the young survive, if not taught by the old.

I have fought once this year, and its not from the want of trying, and if I have had problems with trying to get others to wrestle, I am sure I am not the only one on here who has.

That old saying, Is it not better to have fought, than never to have fought at all.

I joined this site to be in contact with other like minded guys, and to meet up with guys who live within the boundaries that I can travel within, but if the people on this site who live within my boundaries are not accepting of age, height, weight, looks, what are we all on here for.

This is a great site, with loads of opportunities for people to grab and have a good time, lots of people on here contribute to keeping it going, so use it to learn and grow and don't be afraid of someone a bit bigger, or smaller than yourself, you might even like it.

This is only my opinion, you might have a different one, contribute and let us know yours.

Totally agree about size. I am close to your size and have wrestled guys who's weights range from 149 to 310! One of my favorite semi regulars is 158! And I will confirm, size has nothing to do with it. Skill has EVERYTHING to do with it. Recently at a group match, I met a guy that I had chatted with who lives nearby but had told me I had too much weight on him. When he saw me wrestle a guy bigger than I am, he agreed to take me on. He had me nailed!!!! So now we're trying to set up a time for him to come over here. So far, he's had a crazy work schedule but hopefully something will pan out soon.

IMHO, the two biggest deterrents are size/weight and age. I, for one, love taking on bigger blokes than myself ... good training, cardio, and gives me the opportunity to see how I fare. Age is a whole different matter. That is why so many people post on my recommendations that if you want a good match, hit this fellow up regardless of the age difference. Guess the youngsters are just afraid of getting their arses kicked. Can't say I blame them. Though some of the best matches I've had have been against younger or bigger fellows.
