New profile layout
You’ll probably have noticed that the layout of your MeetFighters profile has changed. In an effort to give our members an instant visual overview of who you are and what you’re into, a big main photo – your Avatar – now takes up roughly a third of your profile page. Your stats, location, the languages you speak and your gear preferences are conveniently located to the right. Below the Avatar you’ll find thumbnails for any other public pictures you may have (more about this later on) and below those, your introduction text followed by your interests, preferred fighting styles and the list of your past opponents.Changes to Photo Peer Review
Over the past number of years, our admittedly complicated rules regarding photo classification have been the number one cause of complaints and support requests. We’ve listened. Photo Peer Review has been simplified. From now on, there are only three types of pictures on MeetFighters.com:- Your Avatar. This is the main photo on your profile and the thumbnail that will represent you in Chat, search lists and so on. Avatar photos have to show the unobscured face or the unobscured body from the neck down to the waist (or both), they cannot be erotic, they have to be taken from the front and they can only show one person.
- Public Photos. Public photos are all other photos that up until now were categorized as profile photos or gallery photos. They can be ‘softcore’ but not ‘hardcore’.
- Private Photos. Basically, anything else. Pictures classified as ‘Private’ cannot be viewed publicly but can be attached to messages sent to other members. (Please note that uploading copyrighted images, images featuring minors or images featuring symbols of oppression will get you suspended.)
Every picture (except hardcore or private) can be moved freely between your gallery and profile page at any time! You can now move all your cat pics to your profile page!
To set a photo as your Avatar, you’ll have to self-assess your picture by going through a series of questions. The site will then tell you whether the photo can be used as an Avatar or not, and why. After successful self-assessment, your photo will go through our peer review system for Avatar use, where photos that were wrongly self-assessed by their owners will be rejected.
Photo Peer Review is done from all members of Meetfighters, not from the site administration.
If all of this sounds complicated, it’s not. We hope that our new system will mean less classification, less complaints, and a visually cleaner site.
If you open the first time Photo Peer Review or Photo management a short tutorial will give you a quick overview.
Changes in photo management
You can still manage your photos in handy galleries (‘Boxing Gear’, for example, or ‘Action Shots’.) But now you can also drag and drop, which means moving public pictures between galleries (and from your galleries to your main profile pages) has become easier.HD photos for all!
Soon, all of the photos on our site will be rendered in HD (High Definition) for all members – not just donating members. As there are currently well over 400,000 pictures on our site, this process will take some time, probably about a month. Our aim is to render Avatar pictures first, followed by public and private photos.
Help us grow!
Over the years we’ve found that word-of-mouth marketing is the best way of attracting genuine new members to MeetFighters. For this, we obviously depend on you – our current members. As a thank-you gift, members who recruit new members now receive 90 days of free donor status. Start spreading the word! (Invite a friend.)
Would you like to join our Translation Team?
Last but not least, we’d like to let you know that MeetFighters.com has recently been made available in Bahasa Indonesia and Thai. Our Translation Team is always on the lookout for volunteers. Fluent speakers of any languages currently MeetFighters is currently not available in are welcome, but we’re specifically interested in hearing from speakers of Polish, Greek, Russian, Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese), Arabic and Turkish, to name but a few that are obvious gaps on our list.
Give it a chance
It is our hope that this new system helps by keeping our goal, to show a clear picture of the person you are about to meet but additional allows you to show different pictures on your profile landing page that until now could only be appear in your gallery. If MeetFighters.com has still too many picture rules for you, you can visit https://www.chatfighters.com :)
The system is simple but hard to explain; it really does provide you with a lot of freedom in how you manage your pictures! Before you punch your keyboard to write a comment, give it a chance and try it out!
Best Regards,
MeetFighters Team

Hello!
I'm proud to present to you our new brother site: ChatFighters.
Although it is certainly possible to use MeetFighters for imaginary characters and cyber battles, this is not what the site is designed for. We have all those pesky rules demanding real photos and such. It's a drag.
ChatFighters is all for you, cyber community, the new website is throwin all these rules out the window! The terms of service are hyper simplified, with no picture verification. You are not restricted to just one profile, quite the opposite: you can manage as many cyber profiles as you want with the same registered account. The specialized cyber chat allows you to operate more than one character simultaneously. And when you are done, you can even publish your match directly from the chat with just a few mouse clicks.
ChatFighters.com is a place of fantasy. Here you can create imaginary characters, have epic battles, experience role-playing and meet others with similar interests.
Or just relax and quietly read other members' stories and books.
You are encouraged to open up, explore and share your fantasies. ChatFighters wants to be a worldwide hub for all who love fighting but cannot do this in real.
Check out the member created character descriptions; most of them are very detailed and pretty impressive!
If you like or just being curious about the cyber fighting world, give it a try.
If you happen to post regular cyber blogs on meetfighters, you can keep doing it, but I would be happy if you try and post your blogs also on the story section of the new site.
As usual with us, the site is free and has no advertising AT ALL. Putting your privacy first, we don't use any 3rd party tracking or similar shit to create fingerprints of your web history. Join, chat, read, leave, and hopefully come again.
I worked on ChatFighters for roughly a year. It's been in limited beta for a month now, opening to the public today.
It is still in his baby steps, but I have many plans for it. I'm in contact with the existing cyber community from Yahoo!, helping me in creating this new place! You can join too, and have a strong influence on how this website will develop in the future. New features and requests are mostly community-driven!

Hello cyber fight fans,
Some of you might now that Yahoo! is closing down their Groups service on very short notice.
I want to help preserve these communities and their content. Anyone who can post a message to groups such as "Cyber Fight Guys", knows the contact information of the administrators of such groups, or happens to be the administrator of such groups: please leave a comment below or (if you wish to stay private) open a ticket here.
Thanks for your help!
Best Regards,

New Chat is out of Beta!

Hello Fighters,
After 30 days, the new chat is out of the beta! Thanks for all your testing and feedback.
As a side note, we have far more members in the new chat then the old one has ever had (on average). Even through idle members get disconnected after 2 hours (the old chat allowed you to stay idle as long as your connection would last).
The chat could not have had a better start and better acceptance. I knew change is hard to push, but I wanted to say thanks for your constructive feedback! It helped to develop the chat further!
Since a few days, a poll is running to decide the next features of the chat. Add your votes, the poll will stay open for another 7 days, then the roadmap for the next site update will be finalized. As small gift for today and finishing the beta, the currently most voted feature was implemented: Site notifications about new messages are now pushed to the chat as well.
Happy typing (and fighting!),

2019 Summer Update

It's been a while since our last update, but that doesn't mean that our team of code warriors were resting! No! They were fighting hard to bring you even more stuff to help you find your perfect matches!
Brand New Chat
Our good old Kiwi chat has long been wrestling with your online needs, occasionally getting knocked out by your relentless attacks. But now there is a new contender in town: we are introducing our new Beta Chat! The goal was to fix some of the pain point of the previous chat and bring a better, more modern experience. You can connect simultaneously from all your devices, seamlessly switching between the small screen of your phone to your tablet or computer. The chat will retain your rooms and private conversations, even if your connection drops or your browser dies on you. It is our hope that it can keep you going even on a limited internet connection.
Better site integration lets you share your pictures, use your webcam and add favorites directly. (Blocking and reporting members is just as easy, if you must.) You can configure the font size and your color to your liking, and share our new Fightmojis in your private conversations or rooms.
Speaking of rooms, you can easily create as many of those as you like. Your rooms can be public and open to anyone, or invitation only. Your rooms and private conversations remain alive even if you leave the chat and come back within a day!
For improved privacy, other members can no longer see your internet connection details.
- Click here to try the new chat.
- Click here to provide feedback.
- We plan to finish beta testing and fully go live in 30 days.
New Privacy Settings, and Terms of Service update
Even fighters need their privacy. To help you give your stalkers that much needed punch in the gut, we present you with some new privacy controls.
On the Preferences page, you can now suppress any or all of the login, birthday and profile update notifications that your fans are getting.
We have also taken new measures to combat online stalking. Blocking someone will hide all your activity from their sight. This includes your online status, your presence in search results and any past opponent lists and recommendations.
To further protect your privacy, events that happened in the past are now hidden from profile pages. (You can still review event participation on the individual event pages.)
Furthermore, unregistered site visitors will not see your online presence anymore. As previously, you can choose to restrict your profile page from unregistered visitors, including search engines such as Google.
Additionally, there are some minor changes to our Terms of Service:
- §1 explicitly mentions that members must 18 years or older. This was previously only covered on our registration page.
- §2 has been clarified to state that hate speech and racism are forbidden in all public and private interactions on the site.
- §3 clarifies what is and isn't covered by our civil code of conduct.
Please review the first three articles of the Terms of Service page for yourself. Your continued use of the site is, as usual, taken as your implicit agreement. If you disagree with the changes, you can terminate your account at any time.
Translators, Supporter and Donors
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Talented Team of Translators and Super Squad of Site Supporters! Without your efforts, none of the localized editions of MeetFighters would be possible. As always, we are eternally* grateful to our Devoted Donors.Speaking of which, if you are Talented in Thai, Proficient in Polish, Incredible in Italian or Skilled in Swedish, please apply here to become a translator. New languages are also very welcome: get in touch with us and we will make it happen.
And now happy fighting, and may the better warrior win, like that guy on the right, pictured below.
