Leg day - gains or losses

I just started a new workout plan and one of the days focuses on hamstrings. Deadlifts, leg curls, etc...., I pushed it hard and felt great.

I had a match planned for Wednesday night and I was stoked for my opponent as he’s a legend in the TO wrestling world and sure enough, the day of...my legs were extremely tight.

Now I make it a point to stretch after each workout and I stretched the days in between too, but for some reason... I found myself constantly massaging my legs throughout the day at my desk.

Finally the match comes and I figure I’ll do my best when the slightest pressure from a figure four shot pain throughout my legs. I was so embarrassed. Luckily my opponent was understanding and we were still able to make the most of the evening through a more upper body focused match.

I learned my lesson and will always take leg days easy pre matches.
